About front windscreens
The front windscreen is laminated safety glass: two layers of glass bonded to a plastic interlayer, so it holds together when it cracks. It also supports the roof structure and gives the driver a clear view of the road.
Windscreens for the same model are not always identical. Depending on the year and trim, a windscreen may carry mounts for sensors or cameras, heating elements, a tinted shade band or an acoustic interlayer. These details decide which windscreen fits your vehicle.
Our expert fitters can fit it at your home, office or garage, and we deliver countrywide.
Fitment considerations
- Check behind the rear-view mirror for a sensor or camera housing — it changes which windscreen fits.
- Note any tinted band along the top of the glass, and whether there are fine heating wires along the bottom edge.
- Vehicles with driver-assistance cameras may need the camera recalibrated by a qualified technician after a new windscreen is fitted.
- A photo of the whole windscreen, taken from outside, helps us identify it quickly.
